This pilot project is designed as a small-scale, research-oriented initiative to explore the intersection of agriculture, sustainability, and tourism in the Viterbo region.

The initiative focuses on understanding agroecological practices in Mediterranean farming systems, creating immersive learning experiences for participants, and studying human interaction with agricultural environments.

The key objectives of this project are to gain practical exposure to sustainable and organic farming systems, analyze visitor engagement with agriculture-based experiences, study the impact of agrotourism on sustainability awareness, and explore the feasibility of small-scale agrotourism models.

This project aims to observe biodiversity and ecological balance in farms, study soil health and crop diversity, understand sustainable farming techniques, and analyze how agriculture interacts with society through tourism.

Participants in this pilot project will experience guided farm visits in the Viterbo region, exposure to organic and sustainable farming practices, hands-on activities such as planting or harvesting, interaction with local farmers, and tasting of fresh, locally produced food.

The pilot will operate on a very small scale, with 1–5 participants per session. Each session will be conducted as a half-day or full-day experience. The initial phase will include 2–3 sessions, with a focus on learning, observation, and feedback collection to improve the model.

All activities will follow Italian tourism and safety guidelines. Participant safety will be the highest priority throughout the project. Personal data privacy will be strictly maintained, and the small-scale nature of the pilot ensures full control, quality, and safety compliance.

Expected outcomes of this project include gaining practical understanding of agroecological systems, collecting insights into visitor behavior and engagement, evaluating the feasibility of agrotourism as a model, and developing real-world experience in sustainable agriculture practices.

This initiative is open to collaboration with local farms and agriturismi, sustainable agriculture organizations, and tourism or experiential learning platforms. If you are interested in collaborating or partnering, you are welcome to connect.

This pilot project also serves as a proof-of-concept for a scalable agrotourism model. The long-term vision includes expansion to larger groups, development of structured agrotourism packages, collaboration with multiple farms, and integration with sustainable tourism networks.

We welcome discussions with angel investors, impact investors, and strategic partners who are interested in supporting sustainable agriculture and tourism initiatives.
